Recent Contest activities

I recently took part in two contests. First, on the last weekend in October, I participated in the CW WW SSB Contest, and then the following weekend I took part in the 2 Meter Marconi Memorial Contest.
Here are my results:

CQ WW SSB Contest:

I must admit that SSB is not my preferred mode of operation. With 100 watts of output power, my chances are too slim:

144 MHz CW Marconi memorial Contest

This year, I had difficulty getting QRV on 2 meters because the 10-element antenna (once again) wasn’t working. That’s why I installed a 4-element Yagi fixed just near the skylight window. I could only turn it by hand, so it pointed west on Saturday and east on Sunday. Under these circumstances, I am more than satisfied with my result.

i reached 6053 points with an everage of 242 km. My ODX was OL2M with 540 km. 3 DXCC countrys and 15 squares.

There is a clear preference for the east. However, this is probably also due to the fact that the antenna was pointing eastward for the entire Sunday.
